CHIEKO MEDICAL CENTRE LIMITED

Chieko Medical Centre (CMC) Limited is a Level 2 health facility located in the Kasarani
sub-county of Nairobi County. It began in 2012 as an over-the-counter dispensing
chemist in a dusty and sparsely populated area, serving a diverse population that
included refugees and local residents. Over the years, CMC has experienced significant
growth, expanding its services from curative care to include preventive and promotive
care.
Key achievements include a facility makeover, the transition to a fully electronic medical
records (EMR) system, the acquisition of advanced laboratory technology, and the hiring
of experienced personnel. These improvements have contributed to CMC’s recognition
in the region. The facility is also SHA-accredited and aligns itself with the Kenyan
government’s key goal of universal health coverage (UHC). Additionally, CMC has
mapped its catchment areas with the assistance of Community Health Promoters
(CHPs).
